A few favorite drinks.
In a recent work meeting, our ice breaker was to each share a boring fact about ourselves. I shared that I like water. We all thought that was hysterical for some reason. I wanted to incorporate that fun moment into my project, so my water bottle is the foundation of Wet Whistle (credit to Pam Kocke for the title).

140lb cold press 8″x8″ paper (Fabriano I264 watercolor)

Water, Negroni, Old Fashioned, Tom Collins.
Coffee, Stout, Gin Martini (stirred), Cabernet Sauvignon.
Manhattan, Sauvignon Blanc, guava kombucha, melon milk tea with boba.
Process
I’ve used pen and ink to write words for a long time, especially to journal. Six months ago, I decided to try ink for drawing as well. After sketching and doodling for a few months, I started a drawn journal in February. In my explorations, I realized I like to draw little doodads from my days, which a sketch journal seemed perfect for capturing. I also like lists (I’m a Virgo). When I thumbed through my journal, I noticed mugs and glassware make several appearances, so for this project, I drew a list of my favorite beverages. I added color for the first time as well after testing my new watercolors on a pair of blue suede shoes.
